Winter walkers on the Cairngorm plateau

Aviemore & Cairngorm Walking & Mountain Festival 2008

The Walking Festival component will continue as it has in previous years with around ten guided walks each day ranging from gentle walks in the glens to very strenuous ones on Britain's highest peaks. Once again we have found some new walks for 2008, including a mini expedition involving spending two nights in mountain bothies in the Cairngorms.

In the local area is a wealth of experienced outdoor activity operators offering numerous activities. With this in mind we are offering the services of some of these operators as part of the Mountain Festival section. This will include mountain biking, kayaking, whitewater rafting, climbing, canyoning and more.

There will also be a full evening programme of events including mountain related talks, films, Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team open night and a Ceilidh Supper.

Location: Various locations throughout the Cairngorms

When: 10 - 17 May 2008
