Langholm Walking Festival 2008
The Langholm Walking Festival continues to attracts walkers of all abilities and fitness levels from across the UK.
The Langholm area is characterised by beautiful river valleys running between green, rounded hills, which rise to 400-500 metres (1300-1600 feet), many of them commanding magnificent views. The walks range from 10km/6 miles up to 19km/12 miles and have been chosen for enjoyment and pleasure rather than physical challenge, although where the walks cross open ground, conditions underfoot can be testing.
Walkers are supplied with a complimentary post walk cuppa for which the festival is now renowned and the programme also includes entertainment on Saturday evening.
The festival is set to attract over 250 walkers and will be based in the new Buccleuch Centre being built in Langholm. Further information will appear soon on the festival web site at www.langholmwalks.co.uk
