Section 5: The Drumochter Hills

These hills are very accessible due to their proximity to the A9 main road which runs from Perth in the south to Inverness in the north. On the west side of the A9 the hills have great views across Lochs Garry and Ericht and a combination of their number makes a great day out for those with reasonable fitness. The hills to the east of the A9 offer good walking but are a little more featureless - these being less craggy and composed more of moorland than the west Drumochter hills. Good navigation skills are required in strong mist and fog.
