| OS Map Reference: | OS Sheet 50, GR: 153429 |
This mountain rises 3 kilometres east of Ben Starav, being the next major peak on the ridge from there to Stob Coir'an Albannaich. Although rather overshadowed by its two higher neighbours, Glas Bheinn Mhor has a fine appearance as seen from the lower reaches of Glen Etive, and the north-west ridge which drops directly from the summit towards the glen is surprisingly steep in its upper part.
The ascent from Glen Etive starts 1½ kilometres down the road from Invercharnan and follows the track over the River Etive to Coileitir and past there to the footbridge over the Allt Mheuran. Cross the footbridge and take the path up the west side of the Allt nam Meirleach to the bealach between Ben Starav and Glas Bheinn Mhor. From there climb east along the ridge to Glas Bheinn Mhor.
Descend the east ridge to the bealach at 740m at the head of the Allt Mheuran and go down the path on the north-east side of this stream to return to Glen Etive.
