A well known landmark near to and visible from Glasgow, Dumgoyne rises to around 1400 feet, providing spectacular views of the surrounding area. The hill is easily accessed from Blanefield, just outside Glasgow. The route also takes you near Glengoyne Distillery, which is well worth a visit.

This is a challenging, and in places steep, classic hillwalk for families with older children, up one of Scotland's most popular Corbetts. The Cobbler is also close to Loch Lomond so there are plenty of opportunities for other family activities.
