Whatever type of walking routes you enjoy, from a short stroll with the kids to a trek through wilderness areas, Scotland offers lots of options and the opportunity to experience stunning scenery, wonderful wildlife and captivating culture. Below you'll see coloured boot icons which provide walk route grading information to make it easier to select the type of walk you prefer.

Find a walking route that suits you.

Green - Moderate Walks - walks up to 5 miles/8 kms in length;
Blue - Longer Walks - walks over 5 miles/8 kms;
Black - Long Distance Walks - walks usually of more than 25 miles/40 kms;
Red - Hill & Mountain Walks - strenuous walks which involve prolonged ascent and descent.
