Benderloch Forest Walk
| Distance | Approximate Time | Height Gain | OS Map |
| 5 kms | 2 hours | 360 metres | Explorer 376: Oban & North Lorn |
Description
Start from the Forest Enterprise car park. Turn right at the entrance to the forest and follow the path uphill climbing steeply above the village - there is a short detour to a viewpoint. Follow the blue waymarkers uphill to the second viewpoint and turn right at the junction to climb steeply again alongside the Allt na Dathaidh to reach Lochan nan Ron. It is only a short distance from here to the edge of the forest and a wonderful view over the Firth of Lorn - look out for the Old Coach Road (walk 7) snaking over the hill from Oban to Connel. The ascent of Beinn Lora is not recommended as there is no clear path and the ground is very wet indeed. Return by the outward path - the detour to the Eyrie is well worth the effort. At the path junction above Dun Bhaile an Righ, turn right to follow a good path downhill back to the car park.
