Description
Start from the A816; take the small road signposted 'Barrananaoil' and continue up the valley along the top of a steep bank, some distance from the river. Pass a track junction and ruin before turning right, through a gate and across a field to another gate by the river. Follow the sometimes faint path up the valley on the western side of the river as far as the forestry plantation. En route look out for the Roebuck Stone. Cross a stream at the forest edge and go through a large gate into the plantation. Continue up an old track to join the minor road. Turn left and follow the road to Kilmelford.

Start from the small road signposted 'Barrananaoil' on the A816 Oban to Lochgilphead road. 4.5 miles south of Kilmelford.
