Description

Start from Bute Museum: Follow Castle Street and climb the first few bends of Serpentine Road to turn left into Bishop Terrace. Look out for a green signpost, just past some steps, which leads into the wood. At the far end of the wood turn right, past the golf course along Eastlands Road. Follow the road back to the head of Serpentine Road and the way back to town. For a short diversion, look out for the signs to the viewpoint of Canada Hill, just before Eastlands Farm.

Start from Bute Museum in Stuart Street, near Rothesay Castle, in the centre of the town.

Additional Info

Rothesay Castle lies in ruins but is still a very impressive structure. A deep moat still surrounds the building, once besieged by the vikings.
