Nethy Bridge Circular Walk

Description
An enjoyable 10k circular walk from Nethy Bridge, the longest of several on the website. It's a good family walk (dogs too). Paths are good but boots recommended.
The outward half of this walk is along part of the Speyside Way, following the track of the dismantled railway between Nethy Bridge and Grantown. It's a delightful walk on a dry, springy path, through open fragments of woodland, and farmland (fences on both sides of the path keep dogs out of trouble). The return is in contrast, through open pine forest (paths may be muddy in places). Good views to the Cairngorms and across the Spey Valley.
Access Info
There is a choice...the walk involves walking 1k through the village (refreshments!). If you prefer to do that at the start of your walk then park at carpark 1; to finish up walking through the village park in car park 2. Carpark 1 is at NJ 009207. When going north through Nethy Bridge, take the first turn on the right after crossing the bridge over the River Nethy. 1k on, you are at Causer Crossroads. Turn left, and the carpark is 200m on, on your left. Carpark 2 is at NJ 000207, at the old railway station. When you cross the road bridge, this time take the first turn on the left; the carpark is 100m on, on your right. There is a bus service between Aviemore and Grantown, stopping at Nethy Bridge.
