Description

Looking over to the River Esk at the end of Glen Doll and the head of Glen Clova Route map

This is a circular walk and it is recommended that an anticlockwise route through Corrie Fee is taken to Mayar.

Go West from the car park past Acharn Farm (dogs on leads here please) follow forestry road which ends in a good path. Once on the plateau the path becomes less distinct but easy walking on short vegetation to the summit of Mayar, lots of Mountain hare to be seen. From Mayar head East towards Dreish, crossing the Kilbo Path at its highest point. An indistinct path leads steeply at first to the summit of Dreish on easy ground. There are two descent routes from Dreish;

a) North down the Scorrie ( watch out for steep crags on your right hand side) this gives a steep dramatic descent to the glen floor and is not recommended for novices in winter. There is also avalanche risk.

b) Retrace your route back to the Kilbo Path and descend this path which traverses at a steady rate down the Shank of Drumwhallo. The path can be very icy in winter.
