Description

Looking over to the river Esk at the head of Glen clova

A six kilometre walk through a coniferous forest rising to a height of 440 metres over a very good track and path reaching the bottom of a beautiful Corrie which is part of Caenlochan Nature Reserve. Return route follows the White Burn as it drops over many waterfalls and a boulder strewn river bed.

Access Info

There is a car park at the end of Glen Clova where Glen Doll begins and an information hut with maps. There is no public transport. The campsite was closed during foot-and-mouth in 2001 and may never open again; contact Forestry Commission Scotland, Dunkeld.

Additional Info

This is a very popular winter climbing area where conditions can be very severe.
