Description

Looking down to Loch Morlich in the Queen's Forest

The walk begins at Heron's Field, Glenmore. The first part follows the south shore of the loch, offering splendid views of the loch and the Kincardine Ridge. It then climbs to the upper edge of the forest, with views to Cairngorm, before descending to Heron's Field.

The middle section will delight bonsai enthusiasts. Near the car park there are two cafes, toilets, and an outdoor gear shop. The Reindeer Centre is also worth a visit.

Access Info

From Aviemore take the ski road to Glenmore. The car park is about 300m past the caravan site, on the right. Both Scotrail and Scottish Citylink operate services to Aviemore. There is a local bus service between Aviemore and Glenmore.
