Description
This is a low level walk on forest paths with footbridges, some parts can be muddy in wet weather. It's a circular route taking you back to the starting point at the Community Centre and commences at Nethy Bridge Community Centre, following village lanes past traditional cottages and gardens, then along the Tulloch road into the heart of Abernethy Forest. The footpath takes you through commercial plantations having recently been felled to provide for the re- growth of native pine trees, then on into old mature Scots Pine Woodland before opening out into marshland and open moorland with footbridges - a great place to spot brids of prey circling above. The trail once again returns to the mature Pine Woodland on the way back to the Community Centre, rich in finches and tits, red squirrels and Roe deer.

Additional Info
The steam railway arrived in Nethy Bridge in 1863. Horse drawn tramways and light railways (puggy lines) were constructed in the forest to transport the timber from the woods to the main railway line for export.
