Views from Stirling Castle over to the Wallace Monument

Start from the National Wallace Monument car park - follow the track uphill and turn right onto a path too the view point at the monument. Rejoin the track and bear right onto a small path along the top of the crags - TAKE CARE HERE. The path descends to the pavement beside the A907. Turn right and cross the road opposite a level crossing towards two cottages. Bear right along an overgrown section of old road and join the road to Cambuskenneth. Turn right down South Street, cross the footbridge and follow Abbey Road to Stirling.

Access Info

The starting point of this walk is signposted from the roundabout at the junction of the A9 and the A907 at Causewayhead, one mile north of Stirling. Causewayhead is easy to reach from Stirling, which has a mainline station.

There are some magnificent view points along this walk. The National Wallace Monument was erected in the middle of the nineteenth century from public subscription, to the memory of William Wallace, Guardian of Scotland. The monument offers visitors stunning views across Stirling and much of central Scotland.
