Description
From the main car park follow signposts to Vogrie House along one of two paths leading from either side of the car park. On reaching the historic house, walk between the house conservatory, which houses a café, and the golf course starters hut. Take a path to the right which runs alongside large trees and then descend a steep hill to cross a stone bridge over Alderdean Burn. The path curves round the slope and descends to the River Tyne.
Cross over a wooden bridge here and climb slightly to the left. You will come out onto the Tyne Valley grasslands. Look back across the valley to see excellent views of the park. Continue from the grassland and enter a patch of evergreen woodland which falls away towards the Tyne. After a few hundred metres the path descends steeply to another wooden bridge over the Tyne. Cross this bridge and immediately veer right to cross another bridge over Vogrie burn. 150m along the path you will reach a further bridge. Keep right at this point and walk uphill with the valley of the Vogrie burn on your left.
At the next T-junction, turn left and walk over a causeway past the children's play area to Vogrie House. From the house, retrace your steps to the car park.
