Description
This is a great walk which takes in the starkly different environments in South Harris, from the sandy bays of the west to the lunar, rocky landscapes of the east. There are good tracks and paths along this route and it is way-marked near to Ardvey.
The route follows a diverse route through boggy peatland and grassy tracks, upstream and over footbridges.
The path is a circular route which takes you back to the start by way of some excellent views over the sound of Taransay.
Access Info
Car park available at NGR GR089971 along the main road is probably the best place or the caravan park at Horgabost which is a couple of minutes on foot from the start of the walk.
Additional Info
Local buses connect from Tarbert and Leverburgh. Ferry connections to Tarbert from Skye and Leverburgh from North Uist.
