Description
Assuming a northern start, leave skigersta by Ness in the north of Lewis, to follow the green and yellow posts. Further on you'll pass the ruins of a house and a church passed by the Ness locals when they took their cattle to their moors for grazing.
The route passes through remote and boggy terrain. Carrying a map is advisable and waterproof footwear is essential. There are no roads however the philanthropic Lord Leverhulme planned to build one between Tolsa and Ness; you'll cross his bridge to nowhere.
Continue, enjoying the sea views, fresh air, and sense of space to arrive in Tolsa.
