Description
This well known local walk follows a well used route over the hills linking the Firth of Clyde with Loch Lomondside.
From the A814 in Cardross, follow the road uphill, past the hamlet of Kirkton and climb steadily to Blackthird Farm. Bear left through a gate before the byre and follow the track between stone walls towards the forest. Pass through a gate onto the forest path for a short distance before emerging at the head of Stoneymollan Muir. From here there is a clear path downhill to meet the road at Upper Stoneymollan. At the bottom of the hill, take the path to a footbridge over the main road, go past the caravan park, down onto Old Luss Road and along the pavement into Balloch.
