Description
Combine a cruise on beautiful Loch Lomond (the largest body of fresh water in the UK) with a walk along one of the most scenic stretches of the West Highland Way. Cruise Loch Lomond operate cruises which run daily at 10am from Tarbet Pier on the west shore of the Loch and journey 45 minutes heading towards Rowardennan on the eastern shore. On disembarking at Rowardennan, follow the West Highland Way north to Inversnaid for 9 miles through Craigroyston in the heart of Rob Roy MacGregor country in the shadow of Ben Lomond (Scotland's most southerly Munro).
Enjoy stunning views across the Loch to the Arrochar Alps (Ben Arthur, Ben Vane, Beinn Ime, Beinn Narnain, Ben Vorlich and Beinn Buidhe) and north to Ben Lui. The track is a pleasant walk amongst Atlantic Oak woods and fauna, with an abundance of wildlife, birdlife and feral goats. There's a hotel at Inversnaid should you wish food and/or refreshments.
To return to Tarbet and the day's start point, catch the Cruise Loch Lomond vessel at 4.30pm from Inversnaid Pier for a leisurely half hour cruise back to Tarbet with a complimentary beer or wine served on board to celebrate your achievement.

Tarbet is located around 17 miles from Balloch on the west shore of Loch Lomond. Take the A82 road north from Balloch. All cruises depart from Tarbet Pier, directly in front of the Tarbet Hotel. Additional Info
Sturdy walking boots and suitable clothing should be worn. Dogs should be kept under close control, both on board the vessel and also along the West Highland Way.
