Description
Most of the walk is along the top of cliffs, giving super views into sandy coves and rocky headlands; but there are lots of opportunities to go down to beaches. Across the Moray Firth there are extensive views extending from the Black Isle to Helmsdale, about 50 miles away. The paths are good and mostly dry; but boots are advised. Food and drink are available at either end of the walk.
Access Info
In Hopeman go down to the harbour, then follow the sign to East Beach Car Park (147698). If you are having a second car at Lossiemouth, park at the West Beach car park (223708).
Additional Info
1. It's possible to divert for around a mile on this route to see Gordonstoun, Prince Charles's school.
2. There is a quarry where sandstone, dating from the Dinosaur era was quarried. Many fossilized dinosaur footprints have been found.
