Description
This walk is circular, climbing first to View Rock (160m) through pine forest, then descending to Rogie Falls and it is suitable for families.
The walk begins at the Forestry Commission car park at the west end of Contin Village. The car park has toilets and a grassy picnic area. There are three walks, posted red, green and blue. Those wishing just a short walk to see the falls should take the red route north out of the car park, to reach Waymark 9, turn left to Waymark 7 and left again to the falls.
The walk described here takes in green, blue and red, climbing 150m to View Rock then dropping to the falls. The paths are good and no special footwear is required.
Access Info
From the A835(T) turn off at the west end of Contin, at the bridge over the River Black Water, on to a forestry road, which takes you to the car park (photo). There are regular buses from Inverness to Contin via Strathpeffer and also less frequent Inverness to Ullapool and Inverness to Gairloch services passing through Contin.
