Description
The walk is partly in forest (pine and larch) and partly through farmland, with views to the Cromarty Firth and across the rich farmland of the Black Isle. It's a nice family walk. There is no public transport available, so one or two cars, or drop-off and pickup, are necessary. Paths are all good; but boots are advisable in wet weather. Variations can be made to this walk, taking any of the numerous tracks shown on the map (the paths shown in the forest are in fact there... unlike those shown in many forests...)
Access Info
Finding the two car parks involves greater navigational skill than does the walk! The start of the walk is near Mount High (a forestry village). Just north of Mount High, turn off left at the lodge (697634) by the gates to Braelangwell House and go on for a quarter of a mile to the end of the tarmac. Continue for 200m to the small car park (692625).
The car park at the other end of the walk is at the gates leading to the Mount Eagle TV mast (639579).
