Tain - Edderton

Distance Approximate Time Height Gain OS Map
10.5 kms 03:30 (hrs:mins) 200 metres Explorer 438: Dornoch & Tain

Description

This is one of two walks on the Hill of Tain. Both share sections of open, mainly pine, forest and moorland and both enjoy splendid views from Pulpit Rock, where five counties and the Dornoch, Cromarty and Moray Firths may be viewed. The route undulates, gaining and losing height but paths are good - muddy bits so boots are advised. Large parts of the forest have been felled, so giving more views than you would expect from the map.

If you pick a day with an east wind you'll enjoy a whiff of the nearby Glenmorangie Distillery...
