Description

The route uses quiet rural roads and the shoreline, passing an old mill and a kirkyard. Look out for seals and arctic terns.

Access Info

Ferry services from Kirkwall to Sanday. From pier take the B9070 for nine miles, then turn right onto B9068 to Kettletoft. Parking in village.
No public transport on Sanday.

Additional Info

The bay was the site of the stranding of seven whales in the 1990s.
