Description
This route follows part of the old drover's road from Birsay-Kirkwall. The track passes through the wetlands, and the trackside is botanically rich. Look for curlews, meadow pipits and magical views over the lochs Harray and Stenness.
Access Info
From Kirkwall take the A965 north from Kirkwall, after Finstown turn right onto the A986 for Dounby, then take a narrow lane to parking area.
Nearest bus service operates to Dounby.

Loch Harray and Loch Stenness have both been designated SSSIs (Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
