Description
The walk starts just north of the warden's cottage at a gate into the reserveand heads first to the west coast before following the coast round the northern tip and back down the east coast. As well as Britain's biggest colony of arctic Terns you are likely to see Arctic Skuas, Guillemots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes and even fishing Gannets as you walk along the rocky coastline. Look out alos for the wonderful plant life below your feet, including the rare Scottish Primrose.
Access Info
Westray is served by ferries from Kirkwall or by air - including the world's shortest scheduled flight - the two minute flight from Westray. Taxis are available from the pier or if time permits you can walk the 3 miles to the start point.
