The Lomond Hills of Fife
| Distance | Approximate Time | Height Gain | OS Map |
| 11 kms | 04:00 (hrs:mins) | 400 metres | Explorer 370: Glenrothes North, Falkland & Lomond Hills |
Description
From the car park, cross the road and follow the track towards East Lomond. At the foot of the hill, turn to the right and walk round the preserved lime kilns before following the route up to the top of East Lomond. To climb West Lomond involves returning to the car park and following a longer track out to West Lomond, the higher of the two summits.
Access Info
Take the A912 to the village of Falkland and turn off the main road into the centre of the village. Follow the signs for Craigmead car park. Situated at 320 metres this gives a great height advantage.
Additional Info
Either top can easily be climbed as a separate walk - East Lomond is the easier of the two with a distance of about 4km and height gain of just over 100m. West Lomond is longer - approximately 7km and 200m ascent.
