Glen Clova - Ministers Path - Airlie Monument

Description

This route details a walk between Glen Clova and Glen Prosen over the Ministers Path and a longer route leading from the path along a ridge of six peaks rising to 512 metres ending on Tulloch Hill with the Airlie Monument. All of the route is on landrover track and although most of the track is not shown on the OS map it is very easy to follow with no major navigation required. The walk can be split into shorter sections by doing only the Ministers Path, or even just a walk up to the monument from Dykehead, but on a good day it is worthwhile doing the complete walk for the views northward to Glen Clova. Suggested plan is to park at the Jubilee Arms Hotel in Dykehead and get the post bus, or car to waymark 1 and return along the hilltops to the Airlie Monument and descend to the Hotel for a much needed refreshment.

Access Info

There are no access problems for considerate walkers. There is parking at both ends of the Ministers Path and limited parking near Glackburn at the foot of the track leading from Tulloch Hill and a large car park opposite the Jubilee Arms Hotel.

Additional Info

Thre are no obvious escape routes from the track once started so in winter be prepared for changes in the weather.
