Description
This is a rural walk over grazing land and heather moorland. It starts at a car park in the hamlet of Tarfside in Glen Esk, and crosses to the south side of the river North Esk. To the south of the river, the walk is over agricultural land usually within sight and sound of the river.
The walk then re-crosses the river, passes through birch wood and enters open moorland before climbing to the top of the Hill of Rowan with its monument on top - from where wonderful panoramic views of Glen Esk can be enjoyed.
