Description
To start the walk turn onto St Mary's Road and walk away from the town for approximately 3km. Passing Fernie Schoolhouse on your left, bear left then take the next turn on the right uphill. After 1km you will see a signpost for the path towards Hopetoun Monument. Follow this path up the hill until you near the top where you will reach an unsigned junction. Take the left fork and continue to the summit of Mount Hill. From here you will have stunning views of the Lomond Hills and down to the expanse of the Eden Valley. A short path to the right will then take you towards the Hopetoun Monument. Continue clockwise around the hill until you once again reach the unsigned junction from where you can retrace your route back to the Howe of Fife Rugby Park Car Park and the end of your walk.

Start at Howe of Fife Rugby Park off Balgarvie Road in Cupar. There is a car park here.

You can view the Hopetoun Monument at the top of the hill which is a 29m (95ft) column erected in memory of Sir John Hope, the fourth Earl of Hopetoun who was a heroic soldier who fought in the Battle of Corunna in 1809.
Cupar itself has many pubs, tearooms and rest stops for before and after your walk.
