Description
Walk along the (B7048), a pleasant country road, to the ruins of Portencross Castle. Return along the road and take the first track to the shore (opposite Ardneil Farm). Turn left and walk along the shore at the side of the golf course, enjoying excellent views across the firth to The Isle of Arran. After 1.5 miles turn left into Sandy Road which takes you up to Seamill Hydro on the main (A78) road.
