Pinmore Walk

Distance Approximate Time Height Gain OS Map
17 kms 06:00 (hrs:mins) 200 metres Explorer 317: Ballantrae, Barr & Barrhill

Description

A challenging distance walk, but a most rewarding one. Walking on, at first a good hill track, then rough moorland paths. The route takes you past Dinvin Motte - reputedly the finest prehistoric hill fort in Ayrshire - then continues from Pinmore following the quiet water of Lendal, before it turns north, skirting the wildlife reserve at the Grey Hills. The final leg of the walk skirts Loch Lochton with its fine displays of white and yellow water lillies and continues to give splendid views all the way back to the starting point on the coast.
