Description
The village of Straiton is a very picturesque village of one road bound by cottages with roses round the doors. The first part of the walk is past newer cottages, which still follow the design of the others, then a short distance on the road. Then enter the Lambdoughty Glen on a path called Lady Hunter Blair¿s walk to the Rosetti Linn waterfall. The final stretch is a woodland scramble up and down the side of a burn with waterfall views. The return route can be varied to enter the village before returning to the car.
Access Info
From the A77 south of Ayr take the B7045 to Kirkmichael and hence to Straiton and park on the right as you enter the village.
Additional Info
Some of the paths within the woodland stretch are fairly steep.
