Description
A short walk to the top of Phoineas hill, site of an ancient Pictish fort above the Beauly Firth. This walk follows easy tracks up through the forest to the 180m summit which gives excellent views over the village of Beauly and to Ben Wyvis and the mountains to the west.
Access Info
From the junction of the A862 and A831 (ten miles west of Inverness and two miles east of Beauly), turn south onto the A831. One mile along this road turn left through a gateway onto a single track road - signposted "Belladrum". Follow this road round a couple of bends until a group of houses appears on the right. A forest gate on the left opposite these houses is the starting point for the walk. There is a small amount of parking at the entrance to the forest track - please park carefully and avoid blocking the entrance.
