Three Lochs to Castle Tioram
| Distance | Approximate Time | Height Gain | OS Map |
| 7 kms | 03:00 (hrs:mins) | 150 metres | Explorer 390: Ardnamurchan |
Description
There is a car park at the road end of the A861, just south of Castle Tioram. Park here and head south down the A861 for a short way. Take the path on the left into woodlands and stay on this path heading through woodlands and moorlands, eventually passing by three lochs, then heading north along the foot of Beinn Bhreac.
A small climb gives rewarding views across to the small isles of Eigg and Rum. Carry on along the path until you reach Loch Moidart, then head west along the shore of Loch Moidart where the path becomes more rough and a little more difficult to walk on. The walk ends at Castle Tioram on the island. Visit this as an excellent way to round off a stunning walk, but watch the tides as they cut the castle off from the mainland!
Access Info
Leave Acharacle going north, cross the River Shiel, and follow main road past Blain Farm. Parking is beside gate on left.
Additional Info
Check for tide times before starting walk, or you could be stranded at Castle Tioram.
